Among the Churches

Current Notes

Harvey, Ill.—The Christian Science Society of Harvey held its first meeting in its new building at the corner of 153d Street and Center Avenue on Wednesday evening [Nov. 1]. This society was organized in February, 1909, and its meetings were held in a small room on the second floor of the Harvey Land Association Building until the summer of 1910, when larger quarters, including a reading-room, were secured on the first floor of the same building. In December, 1914, it was again found necessary to seek other rooms, and the first floor of the new telephone building on Center Avenue was rented. Here the society remained for about a year, when it was obliged to vacate because the telephone company required its entire building. Rooms were then procured in the Masonic Building. At a meeting held in May, 1916, it was thought best to purchase a lot and erect a building to meet present needs. The structure is now completed.—
