I lovingly give my testimony as to the power of Christian Science to heal. Four years ago I was in a most dangerous condition. After some years of the most trying experience I had reached the place called "man's extremity." I was in such a condition mentally and physically that I wondered if ever again I could be useful to any one. With this unhappy mental condition came a complete physical collapse. Three physicians were called, two of them among Chicago's eminent specialists, and all stated that an operation was imperative as soon as I was strong enough to undergo one.

At this point I made a new friend, a Christian Science practitioner. I was convinced of the truth of Christian Science because of its reasonableness, for it appealed to me as being logically true. I asked this friend for help, and never before had I known such loving-kindness as I received from her. It meant healing to me. I began to realize what it was to become as a little child and learn humility. I saw clearly that until I was healed of resentment I would never get well.

From the first treatment my health began to improve. I was not in bed a day after that, but in two months was able to do the work which came to me to do and which required strength. Today I can joyfully say that Christian Science does heal. I thank God that I did not have the operation performed and that I accepted Christian Science. I am learning that it is the quiet thought which hears the voice of Truth, and always there comes from my heart endless gratitude to God, and to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy.
