Among the Churches

Current Notes

ST. THOMAS, ONTARIO, CANADA .—The trustees of First Church of Christ, Scientist, this week [Nov. 8] purchased the fine home of Dewitt Green, 16 McIntyre Street. This is one of the finest locations in the city for a church site. It is the intention of the congregation to occupy the residence as its meeting-place and reading-room, and later it is planned to erect on the premises a fine new Christian Science church. The property, which was purchased at a price in the neighborhood of two thousand dollars, is beautifully situated, being in close proximity to Alma Ladies College.

OGDEN, UTAH.—On Sunday [Dec. 26] the new edifice of First Church of Christ, Scientist, at the corner of Twenty-fourth Street and Monroe Avenue, will be dedicated. This addition to the many beautiful churches of the city was commenced in 1914. The corner-stone was laid in March of that year, and the structure was completed and ready for occupancy by January, 1915. The first service was held on Jan. 3. The building and furniture, together with the lot upon which the church stands, cost fifteen thousand dollars.—Ogden Standard.
