I feel I owe a great debt of gratitude to Christian Science for the many blessings I have experienced and for those I have seen bestowed on mankind. About four years ago, while at my daily work in the shop, I was engaged in cutting a piece of steel with a hammer and chisel. In so doing one of the chips, about three sixteenths of an inch in length, flew from the work with great force and buried itself almost completely in the ball of my eye. This caused almost unbearable pain, but notwithstanding the severity of it, through my understanding of Christian Science I was able to eliminate fear to a great extent. On returning home I called up a Christian Science practitioner on the telephone and asked for treatment. The help was lovingly given, and in about forty-eight hours every trace of the accident had disappeared. No material remedies were applied. The truth which Jesus taught was the only remedy. I was indeed very grateful for this healing, for it lifted me higher in the understanding of the allness of God.—C. Calvin Reed, Los Angeles, Cal.
