My healing in Christian Science may lead some sufferer...
My healing in Christian Science may lead some sufferer to the truth that surely heals. In 1912 I was led to try Christian Science for a complication of diseases, the most severe being pronounced ulcers of the stomach. Many remedies had been tried, but at last I became so weak that it was an effort to walk even a few blocks. My physician, after consulting with another doctor, decided not to give me any more medicine, as he said my only chance of recovery was an operation. This was arranged for at once, but the day before I was to go to the hospital a friend called to see me and asked why I did not try Christian Science. I knew nothing of this teaching, but thought it would avail nothing in cases of my kind, and told her so. The thought that the operation might be avoided, stayed with me, however, so that evening the doctors were asked to delay it for a week. The following day a Christian Science practitioner was consulted, and I left her office with the conviction that I would be healed. I therefore decided to cast away every material remedy and leave all to God. My recovery was so rapid that it was the wonder of all my friends.
Other ailments also have disappeared, among them chronic bowel trouble, and although I was a constant user of tobacco for many years, smoking is now a thing of the past. For the many blessings received I am truly thankful to God, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who made this truth so plain that it is available to all who seek it.
