For years I have enjoyed the privilege of reading the testimonies in our periodicals, and they have been of great help to me. Christian Science is to me the fountain of life ; it has made me free from the bondage of sickness and sorrow, self-love and resentment, and brought me into peace, health, and happiness.
This glorious truth was brought to me in 1910. For several years my health had been poor, one disease following another, such as lung and heart trouble, also inflammatory rheumatism, which was said to have resulted in tubercular disease of the ankle. When every material help seemed to fail I turned to God for help, as taught in Christian Science, and my search was not in vain. I became a sincere student of this Christ-teaching, and through it have indeed been regenerated. with the assistance of a practitioner and loving friends who kindly helped me in my journey from sense to Soul, every ailment has been overcome and I now enjoy the blessing of health and happiness. Inflammation of the gall bladder and bowels has troubled me at times, but I feel no more difficulty from this ailment. I have never used medicine since taking up the study of Christian Science; God, Truth, has been my only physician. I am deeply grateful for our Lesson-Sermons, for through them we gain a better understanding of God, who is the only Life, Truth, and Love. Words fail to express my gratitude to God for having given us our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has again made clear to us the works and teaching of our dear Master and Wayshower, Christ Jesus. My daily effort is to gain a higher understanding of the Christ, Truth, which makes us free and helps us to rise from the material sense to the spiritual.—Gesina D. Lamke, Los Angeles, Cal.
