Many are the benefits which have come to me and to...
Many are the benefits which have come to me and to my family as a result of our knowledge of Christian Science. My eldest son was healed twice of blood-poisoning. Last autumn he sustained severe burns on his face and one arm in helping to extinguish a fire. As a result of his practical application of his knowledge of Christian Science he experienced but little pain and slept all night, and within a short time his wounds were healed. My youngest son fell from his horse and was rendered unconscious with a serious injury of the head and a badly discolored eye. In this instance also the help obtained through Christian Science was wonderful. Consciousness returned within a few hours, and in two weeks the healing was complete. My youngest daughter was cured of a serious throat trouble and of appendicitis.
As for myself, I was healed four years ago of typhoid fever and inflammation of the lungs, my condition being such that my dear ones thought I would pass away. But "man's extremity is God's opportunity." In two weeks I had sufficiently recovered to be able to leave my bed, although the sense of weakness was slow to yield. I have also been healed of catarrh and of a great fear of cold weather and of draughts. I used to have noises in my head which kept me from sleeping at night. When this fear was overcome I was healed.
I am also very grateful to God for the fact that my eldest daughter has a clear enough understanding of Christian Science to be able to help others, and that she is a diligent worker in the Lord's vineyard. I think of Mrs. Eddy with love, and daily pray for a better understanding of Christian Science.—Frau Bertha Reinken, Elko, Nev.
