Those who do not understand that all disease or inharmony is mental, say that Christian Science might be good for so-called mental diseases, but in a case of broken bones that it is impossible to effect a cure through other means than those employed by a reputable surgeon of the old school. I am a living witness to the power of divine Truth over just such a case.

Some time ago, while working on a scaffold about two stories high, the ladder slipped, and I fell between two buildings to the ground. I landed on my feet, breaking my right leg and spraining my left ankle. Immediately a large crowd gathered and wanted to take me to a hospital, but I persuaded them to take me home. Then I called a Christian Science practitioner, and with her to help me in knowing that in Spirit and Truth there are no accidents or broken bones, and that God is all-power, I was absolutely healed. No material remedies of any kind were used, and the leg was not set by a surgeon, or in any way touched. Words cannot express my thankfulness to God, and my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, who gave us this wonderful truth. I will strive to thank God by thinking good, and will try to live more and more like our Master, who neither knew nor recognized any power apart from God.—Theodore Seifert, Granton, Wis.
