Words can but poorly express the gratitude I feel for what Christian Science has done for my wife and myself. Before I became interested in this teaching, I was leading a very wasteful life. Still a young man, I had retired from active business, and my principal occupation was to crowd as much selfish pleasure as possible into the day. My wife had been under the almost constant care of physicians for many years, and this practically made my time my own, with the result that I was going the pace which kills.

With the almost instantaneous healing of my wife came the change in my mode of living. I was introduced to her practitioner, became interested in Christian Science at once, and in a short time had lost all appetite for alcohol and tobacco. I was also healed of neuralgia, which had troubled me for years; and the realization was brought home to me that an idle life is a wasted one.

I am again engaged in a useful occupation, and instead of thoughts of discontent and unrest, my consciousness is now filled with love and thankfulness to God, whom I have learned to know through Christian Science.
