The Lectures
The introductory remarks of the Rev. John A. Applebee, pastor of the May Memorial (Unitarian) church, in presenting Bicknell Young, who lectured on Christian Science, were in part as follows:—
I deeply appreciate the honor of the invitation to introduce to you the speaker of the evening. It is a privilege to listen to an earnest, authoritative, and virile presentation of a great faith that has had a profound influence on the thought and life of our time. Such a faith is Christian Science, and such a privilege is ours tonight. The lecturer is an earnest believer in the faith he holds, and he has reached that belief by the way of reason and life.—Correspondence.
