Six or seven years ago, while employed alone in a store, I found on arising one morning that I could not use my feet without intense pain, but I had to go to the store. On reaching home three hours later, I was compelled to crawl upstairs, being unable to stand up. My mother, who is a Christian Scientist, declared the truth, and after calling a practitioner she at once began to read Science and Health. I was as helpless as a babe, unable to move hand or foot. Within a few days, however, I was back at the store, standing twelve or fourteen hours each day. The first time I went out after my recovery was a rainy and snowy day, and my skirts were wet to the knees, but I felt no ill effects, in fact was better the next day. On previous occasions, when under medical treatment, I had lain in bed four to six weeks. Last winter I had another attack, but it was overcome after a few treatments.

I am very grateful for all Christian Science has taught us. I am now reading and trying to learn more of this healing power, and I am also doing my own work in Science instead of depending on others, which I believe was the reason for my last attack.—
