Christian Science found me, about fifteen years ago, weary and heavy-laden. I was not strong, and after a severe illness was left, according to materia medica, with a weak heart. Whenever I overdid in study or work or became frightened, I would have a sinking spell, supposedly caused by heart failure. This would sometimes last several hours before I fully recovered, and usually it was necessary to call a doctor before I could be revived. This condition had continued about ten years. Notwithstanding all this, I had positive proof of the absolute cure of this trouble through Christian Science treatment. One day, while sitting at my window doing some mending, a bullet suddenly crashed through the double pane of glass. I did not faint, and my heart was filled with gratitude for the understanding that God is always with us and that we do not have to be afraid. I am indeed grateful for Christian Science.

About two years after my healing, my father was healed of apoplexy when he was sixty-five years old, through Christian Science. He had had several severe strokes, and had not been able to go far from the house for six years, but was just able to do a little marketing for us sometimes. Since his healing, however, he goes to town daily, and attends to the bookkeeping for my sister's business. He walks about six blocks to the elevated, and prefers climbing all those stairs to riding on the street-cars. He is almost eighty years old now, and says he is getting younger every day. He has been well ever since his healing.
