The saying, "Man's extremity is God's opportunity," has...

The saying, "Man's extremity is God's opportunity," has been most beautifully proven to me. I could not enumerate the many blessings that have come to me since taking up the study of Christian Science, for God has truly opened the windows of heaven, and poured me out blessings so great that there has hardly been room enough to receive them.

Christian Science found me suffering from severe internal injuries received through a fall, also from a badly injured limb. My condition was such that at times I could not turn over in bed without assistance. Again, I had no control over my limb at all, and would have to move it with my hands in getting in and out of bed. I had been under the care of physicians for a long time, but they all told me the same thing, namely, that an operation was the only way through which I could ever hope for relief or cure. In addition, I had suffered from liver and kidney troubles for over ten years. I was consumed with fear of lack, worry over the future, and a great sense of sorrow, as to mortal sense everything worth living for had been taken from me. I was in the deep valley of despair, had almost lost all faith in God, and I felt very resentful for what I deemed my unmerited sufferings. I had reached the point where it did not seem worth while trying to live, but the internal injuries and the injured limb were absolutely and perfectly healed as the result of six months' study of Science and Health. The other ills were slower to yield to the power of Truth, and I have had considerable help to overcome them, but they finally all disappeared into their native nothingness. God has been my physician for the last three years, and my health is perfect. I feel twenty years younger than I did three years ago, and look at least ten years younger. I can truthfully say that I am free.

To say I am thankful for this beautiful religion only feebly expresses my feeling. My heart is filled with thankfulness to God, with love for our Saviour, Christ Jesus, and with gratitude to our Leader for her untiring labors for mankind. I am also grateful to all those who have been instrumental in leading me into the light. My earnest desire is that I may grow in the understanding of this blessed truth, and that I may glorify God by daily demonstrations of His supremacy and power.
