I first heard of Christian Science on Thanksgiving day,...
I first heard of Christian Science on Thanksgiving day, 1904. Within ten days after that I fell and injured my ankle. After being unable to walk for a week I decided to try Christian Science, and absent treatment was given. In half an hour after help was asked for I was entirely free from pain and could walk without difficulty. Two days later I went to see the practitioner on account of a slight strain in the hip, and at that time was healed of an ailment which had held me in bondage for ten years. Glasses which had been worn for nine years were laid aside in two months, although I had been told that they must always be worn for a bad structural defect.
I had no more help in Christian Science until three years afterward, when through great suffering, both physical and mental, I was brought back to the straight and narrow path of Truth. My healing was slow this time, but because of that I have gained more understanding of God and His relation to man and am learning to love mankind. In the fall of 1913 my ankle was injured twice, but each time it was quickly healed. These are only a few of the numberless instances in which Christian Science has helped me, and I am most thankful to God, and grateful to our dear Leader for this truth that meets our every need.
