[Written for the Sentinel]
When Shadows Fled
Into
a deepened gloom
A burst of sunlight gleamed,
And beckoned forth to bloom
A faith where darkness dreamed.
A faith where darkness dreamed
Shone forth in heaven's hue,
And changed what only seemed,
As sun dispels the dew.
This faith to wisdom grew,
Sweet scented, golden bright,
And lo, all things were new
When shadows took their flight.
