It is with a deep sense of gratitude to Mrs. Eddy that I tell of my physical healing and spiritual regeneration through the study and apprehension of divine Truth. By unceasing labor throughout her long life at the vast undertaking of founding and establishing the religion of Christian Science, our revered Leader has rendered a service to the world of incomparable value, and the beneficent influence of her teachings is proving the greatest boon that mankind has enjoyed since the days of the master Christian.
Christian Science has wrought a tremendous change in my life. Where before was often discouragement and always trouble and worry of some kind, I am now coming somewhat into the comprehension of that mental poise which constitutes the kingdom of heaven. I am learning what a great influence my old concepts of God and man and right and wrong had upon my health. Step by step, and with gratitude for each bit of knowledge and freedom gained, I am enabled to break away from old thoughts and beliefs into understanding and peace, health and happiness. I feel that I am gradually coming into a better knowledge of "the living, palpitating presence of Christ" (Science and Health, p. 351), the "way" by which the goal of spiritual existence is finally reached and proportionately attained in this world.
In attempting to enumerate the blessings received from the study of Christian Science I always think first of the gaining, though in a small degree, of that "peace of God, which passeth all understanding," and which students of this Science learn is of very practical and inestimable value in their daily lives. The feeling of security that comes from the apprehension, even in a small way, of this divine repose has proven to me most comforting and helpful; but the physical healings I myself have enjoyed, as well as those my wife has experienced, are indeed numerous and to sense truly wonderful.
