Christian Science came to me with help, just like the good...
Christian Science came to me with help, just like the good Samaritan of old, at a time when I was a physical, mental, and moral wreck. Having been afflicted during my life with almost every disease it is possible for one man to have, and having been a believer in materia medica, I had spent a great deal of money in doctors' bills and medicines with no permanent relief. Three of the ailments which had a strong hold on me were rheumatism, stomach disorder, and sleeplessness, with which I had been troubled for years; and added to all this I became a slave to the liquor habit. Owing to the hold the desire for drink had on me, I became separated from my family; and for a year before coming into Science I was unable to do any work.
At this time a friend mentioned Christian Science to me, and as I had been given up by the doctors, I decided to give it a trial, and therefore went to see a practitioner. He gave me a treatment, and that night I had a good sleep, and I felt refreshed the following day. Having made up my mind to look into the matter thoroughly, I studied earnestly day after day, although it was a difficult task, as I am a foreigner and at that time, eight years ago, was not very familiar with the English language, but I kept on working and studying, and discovered that Christian Science fulfilled all my hopes. I sought relief from all my troubles and found it. Christian Science meets all my needs, both spiritually and materially, and has made a new man of me. For this wonderful regeneration I am thankful to God, and grateful to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has shown me the way.
Charles W. Rosenius, Chicago, III.
