Telegraphic reports quote an officer of B'Nai B'Rith, a Jewish fraternal order, as stating that it is impossible for any person to be a Christian Scientist and remain a Jew. Christian Science teachings contain nothing which prevents a Jew from being loyal to his race or the teachings of the Old Testament. As a matter of fact, Christian Science reconciles Jew and Christian on the basis of monotheism and adherence to the first commandment. The testimony of Jewish people who have become Christian Scientists is that Christian Science merely teaches a more spiritual concept of God than present-day Judaism presents. Nothing is lost to the faith of the Jew by Christian Science. His grasp of God, the great I am, is made clearer, and he sees more definitely the grand reality of Spirit which governed Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and the great lawgiver Moses. He sees that as these patriarchs demonstrated the ever-presence of God as protection, peace, and prosperity, so today the same God and the same blessings are made manifest through Christian Science.
