Before coming into Christian Science I made the remark...
Before coming into Christian Science I made the remark one day that there could not be a God who would send such suffering as I endured, that there was something wrong somewhere. Since coming into Christian Science I have found the right understanding of God, man, and the universe, and peace, comfort, and security which I had never found in the old thought. It is not only the healing from physical ailments, but it is the spiritual uplift that we have received from this teaching which makes it mean so much to us. As we study and gain in understanding, we know more and more surely that we have found the right road in Christian Science. We cannot be too thankful to God, and grateful to Mrs. Eddy, for our literature and our churches, and for the good they have done and are doing for mankind.
I had many ailments, hereditary and other, and had been in the hospital several times for operations. Christian Science, therefore, came to me as a last resort, since nothing more could be done for me from a material standpoint. I have not been one of those who are instantly healed, for although a good many ills left me immediately, others seemed to take more time. I have had to study Christian Science very earnestly and stick to it, but it has given me the assurance that I know what I have found, and it is for all if they will only accept it. I have been in Science between three and four years and have not resorted to material remedies in that time, but have relied solely on Christian Science and the understanding gained through studying the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.
