A little less than five years ago Christian Science found me...

A little less than five years ago Christian Science found me a physical wreck, after undergoing a very serious operation on the stomach that I could have avoided if I had only had a ray of this wonderful teaching at the time. God was so far away, as I thought, and I believed that my suffering came from Him.

It was only after I awoke in Christian Science that I was healed by the realization of His divine presence and love. The suffering I went through previously is beyond human conception. I lived on a liquid diet for almost a year; not one scrap of solid food entered my stomach, or what was left of it after the operation, in all that time. Now, after almost five years of patient study of Christian Science, I am completely healed physically and greatly benefited spiritually. I eat everything that I wish for, and experience no ill effects whatever. It was not until I eliminated from my thought the many little roots of malice, envy, jealousy, ill temper, and ungratefulness, and watched at the door of mortal mind, that my health was restored. My healing was slow at first, but I am glad it was, because only in that way, and by daily living the life taught and exemplified by Christ Jesus and explained through Christian Science, did I gain any headway.

I have also experienced a very wonderful healing from a growth in my throat that appeared about the time I was operated on for my stomach. At first it was very small, but it continued to grow until last fall it was so large that I could hardly swallow. I went to a Christian Scientist, and after three treatments it entirely disappeared. Not one vestige of it is to be seen today, while before the healing it was in plain sight.
