The Times
In reply to a recent editorial entitled "Psychological Bread," permit us to state that Christian Science does not teach one to ignore evil by advising him supinely to close his eyes and declare that evil does not exist. Christian Science goes to the very bottom of things, searches out the troublesome cause, and thoroughly destroys it. It may be "psychology" to ignore evil, but it is not Christian Science. It might be well for us to call your attention to the fact that Christ Jesus practised the Science of Christianity, or Christian Science. By this method he walked on the waves, stilled the raging tempest, and on two ocasions, with practically no visible supply, fed thousands. Christian Science destroys discord of every name and nature, physical, mental, moral, and financial. To doubt this would be to question the words and works of the Founder of the Christian religion.
It is not our desire to discuss the merits or demerits of our esteemed President's views on the business situation, but we do know that the discord to which the physical senses testify will diminish in the proportion that Christian Science is understood by the world.
