It is with a sense of deep gratitude that I acknowledge all the blessings received since I began the study of Christian Science. From childhood I was never strong, and as a young wife and mother I became very ill, suffering for years with intense nervousness, weak heart action, bad headaches, stomach trouble, etc. All this made life a misery to myself as well as to those around me. My fear was so great on account of the heart trouble that I could not be left alone even for a very short while.
It was in the midst of all these ills that Christian Science came, and replaced discouragement with hope, restlessness with peace, and invalidism with health. The loving help and treatment of a dear practitioner and friend brought about a complete change of thought, followed by sweet confidence in the truth which sets us free. I have had many other demonstrations of the healing power of Christian Science in my home, in the instances of whooping-cough, colds, stiff neck, etc.; but its teachings were especially appreciated on the occasion of the passing on of my dear mother. I had always believed it impossible to live without her, and the very thought of parting would disturb me greatly; but I know now that death has no power, that it cannot intervene between us and our dear ones, and that there is no separation.
I hope this testimony will help others who may perhaps be in a similar condition to that in which I seemed to be a few years ago, and lead them to study that wonderful book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, as I was led to do, whereby the understanding of God was revealed to me. I also hope to become worthy of being called a good Christian Scientist.
