A little over three years ago I met with an accident
A little over three years ago I met with an accident. I was carrying a little girl across the edge of a lawn which is raised several feet from the sidewalk, when I slipped and fell. Immediately my right ankle began to cause me great pain. Fear began to be felt, for I had planned to climb a mountain the next day, but I managed to get into the house and sit down. Then I repeated over and over again the Lord's Prayer and "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health, p. 468), while my mother gave me a treatment. She told me that I lived and moved and had my being in God, therefore I could not meet with any accidents. Almost immediately the fear left and all the pain disappeared.
The next morning, after I was ready to go to the mountain, fear again seemed to be manifested, and I asked mother if she thought I should go. She replied, "Go, and God will be with you." I did go, and not once did my foot give me the slightest pain, nor did I even think about it. On my way down the mountain (this was Wednesday), I wondered if I would be able to go to the evening meeting, or if I should go home and go to bed. Then the thought came to me, Why should I not be able to go to church, when God had been with me all day while I climbed the mountain? When I arrived home I told my mother that I was going to church. I did so, and from that day to this I have not experienced any bad effects from what had seemed to be a badly injured ankle.
For all this, and many other healings, I am certainly grateful. I attend the Sunday school and find it of great benefit and help in my work. My one desire is to gain a clearer and better understanding of this great truth.
