It is with a feeling of deep gratitude for all that Christian Science has done and is doing for me that I give this testimony. On Christmas morning, 1912, my son, aged nine, while playing with firecrackers, met with an accident. One of the crackers exploded, hitting him in the right eye and badly burning that side of his face, the eyebrow being entirely burned off. As soon as I found out what had happened, I tried to declare the truth for him, but the pain seemed so great I thought it best to call a Christian Science practitioner. In a few hours after we got in touch with the practitioner, the boy was resting easily, and he slept well that night. The treatments were continued for perhaps a week, and it was some little time before all the scars had disappeared, but the pain was gone after the first day, and in a very short time the eye was as perfect, in every way, as before, even the eyebrow growing again.
This is only one of the many healings which my two children and I have had since coming into Science about five years ago. While I am thankful for the physical healing. I am more grateful for the right understanding I am gaining of the Bible by studying it in connection with Science and Health. I feel I have many faults yet to overcome, but I am striving to learn more of this wonderful truth that makes us free from all that is unlike God. I am indeed grateful for all the good I have received and am constantly receiving through the study of Christian Science.
