I am anxious to tell how grateful I am for what Christian Science has done for me, both physically and mentally. I had been ailing for several years, more especially for the last two years as the result of a fall. I could not move about easily on account of gout, and besides suffered with a serious kidney affection. These ills kept me in a state of fear which interfered with all my doings, and made me feel unhappy.
In October, 1912, I had an attack of paralysis. It was at that time that I first heard of Christian Science and its healing power. Although I was not exactly clear as to the meaning of the term Christian Science, I did not hesitate to apply for treatment, and the subject was explained to me in such a loving and comprehensive way, and appeared to be such a beautiful and comforting truth, that it did not take me long to understand it. Within a short time my health improved, and I was able to come and go as I had not been able to do for a long time. The fear that pursued me has disappeared, and I am a well woman, seeing life in an altogether different light.
Although not familiar with the English language, besides not being very young, yet I bravely began its study, and am happy to say that after a few months it became possible for me to read that useful and inspiring book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," as well as the Christian Science periodicals. Since my healing I have had the joy of seeing my husband turn to Christian Science for help. He had been suffering for many years with very distressing pain, said to be caused by some condition of the spinal marrow. Within a short time there was a marked improvement, which is still going on, and we hope that with faith in God, complete healing will follow.
