The following testimony is given with a heart full of joy and gratitude. I was afflicted with spinal complaint for fifteen years, and whenever the pain in the back became acute, paralysis of the legs and feet would set in. Besides this, during the last twelve years my legs would fail me completely after every slight exertion or excitement. Under these circumstances I experienced great difficulty in moving about, and whenever I wanted to be out of door, I had to be wheeled in a chair. The many physicians whom I consulted were unable to help me, and finally diagnosed the case as an affection of the spinal marrow, a disease which is considered incurable. I became very dejected, and lost all hope of ever recovering the normal use of my limbs.

In the beginning of 1913 relatives induced me to look into Christian Science, and I became acquainted with its teachings and its results. I now praise God for the help that He sent me, for a short time after I began to investigate the subject and had confidently put myself under the care of a practitioner, I experienced a slow but steady improvement, and today I have reached the point where I am able to move about quickly, to walk on the street without assistance, and even to go alone on a journey.

I would not fail to give expression to and make public acknowledgment of the fact that I owe to the teachings of Christian Science my health and buoyancy, and that it has lifted me out of a seemingly hopeless condition.
