I want to give my testimony of healing through Christian Science...
I want to give my testimony of healing through Christian Science, in the hope that it may benefit some one who has the same great need of help that I had. Three years ago I was a nervous wreck, discouraged and tortured with a skin disease which was so bad I could neither see nor sleep; also bowel disorder of sixteen years' standing, temper, sensitiveness, worry and all the ills it brings with it. I had tried several doctors and all kinds of remedies, but received very little help. Through the kindness of a friend I got a glimpse of Christian Science, and this gave me a different idea of God. I thought I would see what Christian Science could do for me, so I went to a practitioner. The nervous disorder was helped in a few treatments; but as the skin disease and bowel trouble did not yield, I was discouraged, though I did not want to give up Christian Science.
I was then advised to try another practitioner; but the help did not come. I was reading the Bible, Science and Health, the Sentinel and Journal, and as I read the testimonies of healing I wondered why I could not be healed. I knew that "God is no respecter of persons," so I felt that the fault must be in me. My practitioner worked lovingly and faithfully to help me to see that I must first seek the kingdom of God, as my thought was all for physical healing, and I was not thankful enough for my blessings. She then helped me to see what it means to be God's child, and with this understanding has come the permanent healing of the bowel difficulty and other troubles. The skin eruption returned several times, but it has now entirely disappeared. Christian Science has helped me spiritually, physically, and financially.
Mere words cannot express my thankfulness to God for all these blessings, and my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy. My desire is to help others and thus show how much I appreciate Christian Science for the light, joy, and peace it has brought into my home. The healing is wonderful, but I am more thankful for the spiritual understanding.
