I wish to express my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me, in the hope that thereby some one else may find this healing truth. Four years ago I had a nervous breakdown which threatened my reason. My fear was so great that I dared not even tell my wife, and the thought that I might have to go to an asylum was with me nearly all the time. I had heard a great deal about Christian Science, but knew nothing of the treatment, and I would not have dared to tell any one of my condition. I learned, however, that one could obtain the book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, at the library, so I borrowed a copy; but to my disappointment I could not make anything out of it and took it back. For the next three months I read about mental suggestion and many other things along that line; I also read several articles against Christian Science, but thanks be to God they only led me to make another attempt to reach out for the truth, which I was honestly seeking in my way. Again I obtained the book, Science and Health, and this time I was ready for its message,—and it did seem so good to know that I had found the truth which sets free! From then on my wife and I took up the study together, and it was nearly a year before I told any one what my trouble had been; but after that I was not afraid, for I had come to know that God, good, is the only Mind, and that as I reflected this Mind I could not lose my reason. I was healed by the truth.

I had been a slave to tobacco for twenty years and would rather gamble than eat at any time, but the desire to indulge these habits was overcome in a short time. My wife also was healed of a bowel trouble of over ten years' standing, for which she had tried everything, to no avail. It is now three years since she has had to resort to any material means for her health.

For all these blessings, as well as many others, we give thanks to God, the healer of all our troubles, and our hearts are full of gratitude to our dear Leader for showing us the way.—Floyd E. West, Batavia, N. Y.
