THE ANNUAL MEETING

We take from The Christian Science Monitor the following brief summary of the annual meeting of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, The Mother Church, of Boston, which was held Monday, June 2, at two o'clock, in the church edifice, Norway, St. Paul, and Falmouth streets, with a large attendance of members of the church from many parts of the world. In our next issue we shall be able to give our readers a more extended notice of the meeting, including the address of the new president and the report of the clerk of the church.

The meeting was opened by the singing of Mrs. Eddy's hymn, "Shepherd, show me how to go" (196 of the Christian Science Hymnal), after which President Bliss Knapp, C.S.B., read selections from the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. Then came silent prayer, followed by the audible repetition of the Lord's Prayer. The congregation then sang hymn 240, "Ein' Feste Burg." The retiring president, Bliss Knapp, C.S.B., then read the names of the officers for the ensuing year, as follows:—

Frederick Dixon, C.S.B., of London, president; John V. Dittemore, C.S.B., of Brookline, clerk, and Adam H. Dickey, C.S.D., Brookline, treasurer.
