I would like to tell others how Christian Science came to...
I would like to tell others how Christian Science came to me in an hour of great need. I had gone through a serious operation and was not relieved. I went to several prominent physicians and was told that another operation was necessary. In a few months I was operated on again and was helped very much, but the main trouble, a hemorrhage of ten years' standing, was not relieved. The different physicians told me if it did not stop I would have to go through another operation, and that it would be the last.
I was most miserable both mentally and physically, but I turned to God for help and prayed earnestly for healing. I was then called to St. Louis, and while there something seemed to tell me to go to the Christian Science church. I finally went to one of the churches there, and I felt that I had never seen a more joyous and happy lot of people. They were very kind to me, and one lady took the trouble to look me up at my room one night to tell me of the power of Truth. As she told the wonderful story, it was to me as the opening of the gates of heaven. I was filled with joy, and a great spiritual awakening took place in my consciousness. I had been wearing glasses which a specialist had recently told me I must always wear, but my eyes were healed that evening, also a bad case of hemorrhoids. I took up the reading of Christian Science, and in a few months was entirely healed of the other ailment.
Divine Truth has been my strength in the time of sorrow, bringing to me that peace "which passeth all understanding." I am grateful to God, and also to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for Christian Science.
