Four years ago I began to study Christian Science, but previous to that time I had read the Sentinels which a kind friend occasionally posted to me, a favor I much enjoyed and appreciated. I did not, however, feel very desirous to know more about the teaching, until I was asked to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy to one who was near and dear to me, and who was undergoing treatment at the time. Though the result of this treatment was not what we so much desired, I felt constrained to continue the reading of the text-book. I became so interested that I could not read anything else, and all other reading seemed empty and useless. I loved the book, for its teaching came to me just when I most needed help, and healed my sense of sorrow. Divine Love was my comforter, and I realized more than ever before that God is "a very present help in trouble."

Within the last two years I have been healed of an internal ailment from which I had suffered intense pain from childhood. I had consulted several doctors, one a London specialist, but none of them seemed able to help me, and the medicine they prescribed only appeared to aggravate the trouble. After studying Science and Health for some time, I decided to have treatment, with the happy result mentioned above. Words can never express my gratitude to God for this healing, and for the unspeakable joy and comfort which Christian Science has brought into my life; but most precious to me is the better understanding of divine Love, and the realization of God's ever-presence and power.

My heart goes out in love and gratitude to our Father-Mother God, also to Mrs. Eddy for showing us the way out of fear and bondage into the freedom of the truth.
