Mill Valley, Cal.—In October, 1902, ten persons interested in holding Christian Science services met at Crown Point, Mill Valley, and the regular church services and Sunday school were conducted there for three and a half years. In April, 1906, a small hall in the Keystone block was secured. As anticipated, our attendance increased, and in January, 1907, a society was formed of eight members, and almost at once provision was made for opening a reading-room. Jan. 21, 1908, in spite of unfavorable weather, a full house listened to the first Christian Science lecture given in our town. In the following May, Wednesday evening meetings were instituted. In March, 1909, it was voted to purchase a lot and take steps toward erecting our own building. The opening services were held July 11 of that year. By the close of 1912, all debts being canceled, the society disbanded, legal steps were taken to incorporate as "First Church of Christ, Scientist, Mill Valley, Cal.," and the church was dedicated Feb. 2, 1913. Each forward step brought a greater sense of responsibility, but proved a means of growth and strength as all lines of activity were faithfully entered upon.—Correspondence.
