In the spring of 1911, while working on a building, a heavy stick of timber fell on my foot, and on removing my shoe I found the foot badly injured. I bathed it and applied a material remedy, but it was very painful, and for two nights I did not sleep. As the foot kept paining me, and was badly swollen and discolored, on the afternoon of the third day my wife asked if I was willing to have Christian Science treatment. I said I was, so she telephoned to a practitioner, who came to see me at four o'clock in the afternoon. She talked with me for an hour, then said that she would give me absent treatment that evening. I was healed during that treatment, and the swelling and soreness entirely left my foot, for which I am very thankful.
