I have so many things to be grateful for in Christian Science...
I have so many things to be grateful for in Christian Science that it would be difficult to enumerate them all, but I would like to relate a few of the demonstrations that have been made in our family. For several years I had attacks of throat trouble which were painful in the extreme, so that it was difficult for me to swallow or speak. One spring, when I was among people who knew little or nothing of Christian Science and I could not communicate with Scientists, the old trouble attacked me, and I had to meet it alone; but it was completely overcome in a short time and has never reappeared.
One evening my husband manifested severe symptoms of a fever, and as he had been through this illness once before, there was much fear. We asked for help from a loving practitioner, and my husband passed a peaceful night; that was the last of the error. At another time my little sister was wonderfully helped in an attack of measles, and though neighbors predicted disastrous results from the fact that she used her eyes freely, sat and sewed in the bright sunshine, her recovery was speedy and her eyes uninjured.
I have been instantaneously healed of severe headaches, but though that tendency is not entirely destroyed, I know it will be as my understanding of Truth increases. I am so glad that I have known Christian Science nearly all my life, and that I know practically nothing of the laws of materia medica through personal experience. I am indeed grateful for the many blessings that have come to us through the teaching and life of dear Mrs. Eddy.
