That Truth heals through Christian Science was beautifully and graciously demonstrated to me while en route to Los Angeles, Cal., when my two-year-old boy was badly burned from the explosion of an electric light in the berth of our car. This occurred just as the berths were being made up for the night and the car was very crowded.

I was called to the child by his screams, and immediately saw that his hand had been much injured and that he was suffering intensely. There was a Christian Science practitioner in our party, and I at once called for her and asked for help. I was in great fear, but she quietly told me to repeat "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health, p. 468) to myself, and then she began lovingly and kindly to help the child. In a few minutes all fear had entirely vanished from my thought, and soon the hand was free from pain and both of us were quietly sleeping. When the child awoke in the morning he was bright and happy and used his hand as freely and easily as if nothing had happened. The hand was healed completely and is without a scar. At the time of the explosion the conductor, after seeing the extent of the injury, hunted up a physician on the train and wished him to look at it, which he did. The next morning the physician wished to see the hand again, and expressed much surprise that he could find no soreness.

Not only for this healing am I grateful, but I wish I could tell to other mothers the many proofs I have had, through Christian Science, of the banishing of fear in everyday life with children.—Mrs. B. E. Ward, Los Angeles, Cal.
