I would like to give my testimony, for the sake of encouraging others to investigate Christian Science. Toward the end of January, 1912, I was taken with a severe nervous trouble, accompanied by great weakness and a feeling of anxiety; I had fever constantly, and for six weeks was unable to sleep at night. Yet other troubles had set in, and for three weeks I expected the end to come any day or night, two physicians having given little or no hope of my recovery. I had been reading Der Herold der Christian Science for over three years, and we now decided to apply to a Christian Science practitioner in Basel for help, the result being that after five weeks' treatment I had improved sufficiently to be able to attend to the household duties myself.

I would like to mention that I never saw the practitioner, absent treatment having been given. I had many a mental struggle to go through, but the assurance contained in the Word of God upheld me; as, for instance, the passage in Job: "He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee." And Truth did remain the victor. Truly we have a God who helpeth us, a God who delivereth us from death, and to Him alone be praise!
