"HEAL THE SICK."
The healing of the sick through spiritual means is ever the most astonishing thing to those who regard disease as a reality. This has been the almost universal experience of the beneficiaries of Christian Science, even as it was the experience of those who were healed by Christ Jesus and his immediate followers. The 'man who was born blind and the man who was healed at the gate Beautiful had no more reason for surprise than had the father and mother in Louisville, Ky., whose daughter was healed through Christian Science treatment. The young lady in question is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Stack, and Mr. Stack, in writing of her previous condition, says: —
"She [the daughter] has been lame all her life, and when she left here in June, 1911, her left limb was four inches shorter than the other and the hip had formed an entire new socket. We had her examined by several doctors, but none of them seemed to agree as to what could be done for her, and we were advised by all but one to let her alone, as they did not believe anything could be done for her. This doctor wanted us to have weights tied to her foot and keep her in bed for several weeks and then let her walk on crutches. As at that time she was only three years old, we followed the advice of the majority and did nothing except to have an instrument made to wear inside of her shoe, which cost us twenty-five dollars and did no good. For the past year (upon the advice of my brother-in-law in Los Angeles, who is a physician), she has walked in an ordinary shoe and upon her toes. Her spine was curving and she was getting to be very badly crippled. Imagine our surprise and delight when the news contained below was received:
