What is more wonderful than answered prayer?

What is more wonderful than answered prayer?
Is it the loveliness that clothes the earth,
The birds' sweet music, springtime's joyous birth,
The wholesome renovation of the air,
Clusters of stars and starlight everywhere?
Is it the sound of little children's mirth,
A mother's love, or friendship's proven worth,
Or all of these and all that's truly fair?
A new-born child is clothed with wonder, clad
With mystery, and beautiful are hands
And lips that pray; but oh! the heart that lifts
Its voice affirming God is All, what glad,
High wonder fills it! All it understands
Blossoms in answered prayer, God's gift of gifts.
