[Written for the Sentinel]

"The high and holy place"

Thy habitation, O most High,
Invisible to mortal eye,
To sense so far and yet so near,
The secret place,—Thy presence here.

In Scripture lore we read of Thee
Inhabiting eternity;
And yet Thou sayest Thou dost come
To dwell e'en in the humblest home.

No bound'ries mark Thy dwelling-place;
No eye can see, no hand can trace,
Nor time nor tide can mark our way
To Spirit's realm of endless day.

O God, exalted far above
All finite thought, Thy name is Love;
And Love through all eternity
Supplies man's need eternally.

O Spirit, Principle divine,
We know no other power than Thine;
No other love can us enthrall;
Thou art our Father, All-in-all.
