With heartfelt gratitude to God, and to our revered Leader,...
With heartfelt gratitude to God, and to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, I add my testimony of healing to those already published in the Sentinel. I had suffered from my heart and rush of blood to the head ever since childhood. It was thought by most people to have been inherited, as my dear mother had passed on from a disease of the heart. My schoolteachers were therefore cautioned and requested not to allow me to overexert myself on the play-grounds at school. Time passed, and when nineteen I had a severe fall which was said to have caused displacement. I suffered untold agonies with my heart and head and the later trouble, until 1911, when I consulted a Christian Science practitioner. Soon after the treatment began I felt much better, and in a few weeks was perfectly well. I could climb steep hills without suffering from my heart; headaches were gone; and how thankful I am none can realize except those who have gone through similar experiences and come out victorious through Truth. I am progressing daily, with God's help, in the understanding of our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."—L. B. Clark, Mena, Ark.
It is with a heart full of love and gratitude that I give my testimony, trusting it may benefit some one who is on the verge of becoming discouraged. For nearly four years, while residing in Chicago, I was afflicted with a very severe stomach trouble, not being able to retain any food, besides having a severe pain continually in one side. After taking treatment for a long while from different Christian Science practitioners and getting no results, I examined by a physician, who said I recovering from appendicitis. I continued the Science treatment, however, because previous to this I had received help a great many times, and my mother had been healed of a chronic throat trouble a year or so before. Nevertheless, as there seemed to be no change in my condition I became discouraged, and would have given up hope had it not been for my dear mother and the faithful practitioner.
While still suffering from this ailment I was married, and later a child was born to me. A doctor who was present at the birth said the baby would not live until morning. He was, however, under Christian Science treatment, and it is with wonder that I look at him now and see how well and strong he is. I am now a well and happy woman, and I thank God and am grateful to Mrs. Eddy for the truth which has healed my child and myself.
