It is with a grateful heart that I give this testimony to what Christian Science has done for me. Over three years ago, my wife began to take Christian Science treatment for rheumatic trouble. Up to that time I had always regarded Christian Science as a freak or worse, but as she had apparently exhausted all material remedies I was willing that she should try it. The practitioner left with us a copy of Mrs. Eddy's book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," so I began to read it, just to see what it was, and I soon perceived that Christian Science was very different from what I had supposed. I was troubled at the time with a double rupture for which I had worn a truss for years. I had been told by the doctors that I was not safe a minute without this, but one morning, instead of putting it on as usual, I hung it up, and said, without any irreverence, "I am now going to give God a chance." I went about my business and thought no more about the appliance; and I have never worn it since, or felt the need of it. This convinced me, and since then God has been my only physician and Christian Science my only medicine. I am trying to live up to the teaching of Christian Science as well as I can, and am truly grateful for Mrs. Eddy's teachings.
