THE LECTURES
William R. Rathvon lectured on Christian Science March 31. He was introduced by Ralph Anderson, who spoke as follows:—
For the past nineteen centuries Christianity has been the greatest fact of the world's history. During these centuries the various civilizations have brought to the interpretation of that religion various ideas and forms which were parts of those civilizations. Thus we have had many and varied forms of Christianity during all these generations. We who have turned to Christian Science believe that we have found in this nineteenth century form of thought some new points of view, and also that we have returned to the original truth as presented by Jesus. In approaching the subject there are so many angles from which it might be viewed, and so many things that can be said, that I hesitate to say any one of them, for they would all take us too far afield for the purposes of these remarks. One thing I will say, however, that in coming to Christian Science I would ask on the part of each one of you an open and unbiased judgment of the truths which it presents. Approach it without prejudice and in the spirit receive receive whatever of truth it holds.—Correspondence.
