Having had so much benefit from Christian Science, I...
Having had so much benefit from Christian Science, I gladly send my testimony. In September, 1910, I was taken very ill, and my sister sent word to a practitioner, who immediately began treating me. At that time they were not aware what was the trouble, and a doctor was called who pronounced it typhoid fever. (My people did not believe in Christian Science.) The doctor said I could not live, and told a friend I would not last over a week. As I would not take medicine my husband dismissed him, and we then relied entirely on Christian Science. They notified the practitioner what the case was said to be, and she sent back the word to have no fear. The doctor had forbidden my eating many things, and also told them not to let me out of bed. I ate everything I desired, however, and not once did I suffer any bad effects from so doing. Many ills came up, but they were all overcome by absent treatment. The healing was so perfect that although I was told that I suffered terribly the first few days, it has all been erased from my memory. I was in bed about five weeks, but would not have been so long if I had had Scientists to care for me, as my people held much fear over me. I soon regained my normal weight and strength and am now a picture of health.
My hair all came out, but grew in thicker than before. Since having the treatments in Christian Science I have more love for friends than before and my disposition is much better. It seemed at first as if we had lost a great deal through my sickness, but divine Love is providing for us and the experience has given us more courage for greater trials. Our financial problems are all worked out with this truth. My husband joins me in giving thanks for Christian Science.—Mrs. A. E. Wiltse, Wild Horse, Col.
