It is the deepest sense of thankfulness to God that has inspired me to write this testimony. The first blessing that came to me through Christian Science was the healing of my wife. She had been ill for over two years, and had been operated upon three different times, but with only temporary relief. She was preparing for another more extensive operation when we were asked to try Christian Science. We did so that very day, and as a result my wife was healed in two treatments.

I was interested, and curious to know something about this Science which had healed my wife so quickly and so perfectly. I therefore began the study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and it was not long before I began to be greatly benefited, physically, morally, mentally, and spiritually. I know that Christian Science heals disease, and I also know that its healing power is divine, for when Christian Science heals disease there comes to the individual a spiritual awakening. This awakening was my first proof of the ever-presence of divine Love. My healing was from rheumatism, the cigarette habit, and an extreme form of nervousness, but it is for the spiritual awakening that I am most grateful, for it leads me day by day into the path of righteousness and is helping me to be a better man.

Christian Science has also been a great help to me in a business way. Before knowing anything of this Science, fear governed me and seemed to affect my business. Now I strive to govern myself and my business up to my highest understanding of God, as revealed in Christian Science. I have been able to prove in a small degree that God, good, is the only lawgiver, and I find that as I obey God's law I am protected by it and get the benefit of His goodness. whereas I formerly got the results of my own fear and ignorance. What a difference there is between knowing and not knowing God, as He is revealed in Christian Science! I have learned through the study of Science and Health that my business, and every one's real business, is to reflect divine Life, Truth, and Love, and in so far as we understand God's law and live in obedience to it, we become like God.
