With a grateful heart I acknowledge the multiplied blessings I have received through the teachings of Christian Science, especially from the study of the text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mrs. Eddy. It occurs to me that we should not withhold our gratitude for the blessings we have received, but should herald them abroad, knowing that our experience will bring a ray of blessed sunshine to some one who may be in darkness.

While I have known of many who owe their happiness to Christian Science, it was brought home to me most forcibly when three years ago my dear wife was saved from what seemed to be impending death. She had been in bed for three months with various ailments, and I had employed several physicians, but they gave me no hope at all. A friend of our family, a Christian Science practitioner, was then asked to take the case, and, thank God, the result was that my wife was healed. The doctors said it would be months before she could walk, but contrary to their expectations, she was out in a week and walked two blocks.

Another instance of the power of divine Love occurred in October, 1909, in Grand Junction, Col. My wife and little daughter were taken with an ailment which the physicians were unable to diagnose, but which was finally pronounced to be small-pox. This was not decided until my mother and myself came down with the same symptoms, and the city physician was called and diagnosed the disease as above stated. We were placed under quarantine, but called a Christian Science practitioner who gave us treatment. We did not take a drop of medicine or use any remedy whatever. All we had was divine Love, and this was all that we needed. Neighbors were surprised to see no physicians call, and in passing by would see us at the windows, for we were quite as well as usual. To those not in Science this healing was a marvelous thing, and not one scar was left upon our bodies.
