My uncle was healed in a few weeks, under Christian Science treatment, of a trouble which he had had for years, with the best medical attendance he could get. When he told us about it we did not give it much thought until my father and I were taken with a fever. We then employed the best doctor we could get, and he did all he could for us, but after two or three weeks in bed, with drugs, we were no better. When the doctor came again he wrote out prescriptions for me, but I told my mother she need not have them filled, for I was not going to take them. A Christian Science practitioner was then sent for. and she arrived about twelve o'clock on Sunday. After she treated me I was hungry for the first time in two weeks. She told me I could have anything I wished for, so I ate a very hearty meal. In one hour after she came I was up and dressed. She came to see us on the following Tuesday, and I went with her eighteen miles on a visit. My father, who also took treatment, was up in a few days, and we are well and happier today for this proof of a great truth. We read in Acts the prophecy of Joel: "And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams." Now I can understand and sing better than ever. I am told that the understanding of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy will keep me well, and I have a copy which I am going to study.
