Christian Science has brought much joy and peace into...

Christian Science has brought much joy and peace into my life, and I feel a great desire to express through the Sentinel a few words of gratitude, though no words can tell what Christian Science is to me. To have found a remedy for all the woes of the mortal, a Comforter that never fails in time of need; to have found the way to love—far above the human sense of love, is to have found the joy that "no man taketh from you," and "the peace of God, which passeth all understanding."

Christian Science has delivered me from many distressing conditions. Simply by the reading of Science and Health I was healed of chronic throat trouble, also of a bowel affection of some years' standing. Car-sickness, that had always made even a short journey perfect misery, left me at the first reading of the book. Lately, I have been lifted out of the thought that I could not hear over the telephone. This may seem a little thing, but little things often appear to hold us in bondage, and would rob us of our birthright, dominion. At the time I took up the study of Christian Science, in addition to the physical ills, there was discord in every direction to be overcome; a financial problem was hanging over me like a dark cloud. Now I see that my own sins, and not those of others, deprived me of the blessings of God's goodness. The day were sometimes dreary, but little by little, as I have discerned the true way,—as I have grasped the right understanding of God, and man's relation to Him,—peace and harmony have taken the place of doubt and fear.

I am thankful for every experience that has helped and is helping me out of the old selfish, mortal sense of existence. I can truthfully say that every abnormal condition in my life has been changed for the better through Christian Science. I am deeply grateful for the good that constantly comes to me through our publications. To be loyal to the teachings of Christian Science, and to strive each day for more of the Mind of the Christ, I feel to be the best way to express my love and gratitude to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who has lovingly pointed the true path through our text-book and her other writings. As we gain even a slight understanding of Christian Science, we see the harmony that is ours when we obey God's law, when we truly seek the light. Mrs. Eddy tells us that "thus will a life corrected illumine its own atmosphere with spiritual glow and understanding" (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 359).
