I wish to add my testimony of gratitude for the blessings...
I wish to add my testimony of gratitude for the blessings which I have received through Christian Science. For years I had been afflicted with an abdominal trouble, and was in a pitiable condition, being almost unable to do my housework. I then became acquainted with Christian Science through my brother, and devoted myself to the reading of Der Herold der Christian Science. I thereby immediately experienced help from God, but being unable to grasp the deeper meaning of this truth, I had frequent returns of the trouble in an aggravated form, and became incapacitated. Thanks be to God, however, who sustained my strength, I never gave up my search for the truth, until the understanding gradually dawned upon me that God is Love, the only creator, who sendeth good alone to His children, if they but follow His leadings; and that evil has power over us only so long as we believe it to be real.
Through this right apprehension the ailment disappeared like mist before the sun, and it has now become easy for me to fill the position of doorkeeper. I am supremely grateful to God for this spiritual understanding, also to our dear Leader, who has given us the "Key to the Scriptures." It is my sincere desire that many people may hear of this wonderful truth, and I shall henceforth earnestly strive to prove my gratitude through righteous living, acceptable unto God, that this truth may lead me more and more toward the goal of perfection.
Frau Lina Volkmann, Köslin, Germany.
