[Translated from the German.]

It is with a joyful heart that I herewith acknowledge...

It is with a joyful heart that I herewith acknowledge the great blessings which Christian Science has brought me and mine. Some two years ago a dear daughter passed on with lung disease, and our younger children, whom we believed to be infected with the disease, did not seem to get along well physically; so we were in a state of constant fear and worry, which in my case brought on a severe heart and nervous trouble. My left arm was almost paralyzed, and I could sleep but little, while medical help proved of no avail.

In this hour of greatest need we heard of Christian Science, and some literature was given us. I thus gained my first idea of the teachings of Christian Science, and called upon a practitioner in Stuttgart. She received me kindly, and during the conversation directed my thought to the omnipotence, perfection, and love of our creator. The following night I had my first good sleep in a long while, and the next day I was well. Before that time I had frequent attacks of catarrh, in fact I was never entirely free from it; but I have had no return of this trouble. Through the reading of the Herold we have learned that there is no reality in hereditary diseases, and that we need not be afraid regarding our children, who are now doing splendidly. I cannot bear to think of what would have become of us had we not found Christian Science. We have learned really to trust God and to love Him, and we have a much clearer understanding of the one infinite Mind. My constant prayer is that all men may know Him in His glory through the teachings of Christian Science. More peace has come into our home, and is manifested in our relation to our fellow beings. In regard to the discovery of this truth, I would say of the Founder of the Christian Science movement: God reward her for it! To God be praise, glory, and thanks for ever and ever.
