The hundreds of thousands of people who have been...
Marshalltown (Ia.) Herald
The hundreds of thousands of people who have been immeasurably benefited because of the beneficent teachings of Christian Science stand unitedly in the consciousness that it has brought to them that peace "which passeth all understanding;" that it has not only healed them of their physical troubles, but it has given them a higher and better understanding of God and man's relation to God, whereby they are enabled not only to be better and live better themselves, but also to help and benefit their fellow-men. Those who are fully cognizant of this phase of Christian Science experience find it difficult,—from any standpoint of Christianity,—to account for the unfair, unjust, and altogether unwarranted criticisms of Christian Science which sometimes emanate from the pulpit.
Because of the intrinsic value of Christian Science, and because of its intensely practical results, nothing of this sort can permanently disturb, retard, or obstruct the stately course of this religious teaching, which, regardless of all opposition, moves on unswervingly to the accomplishment of its mission in the regeneration of sick and sinful humanity. A more comprehensive understanding of what Christian Science is and is doing will some time result in increased appreciation of its beneficent teachings, and also in the cessation of useless and unfair opposition upon the part of people who should, reasonably and logically, be working with it to the accomplishment of its purpose, which is the betterment of humanity.
